Triple bill of Slayer, Lamb of God and Behemoth to sweep into Columbus like a fearsome horde on July 18th, 2017, Express Live.

Those now running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain may want to change their travel plans, to gain a real adrenaline junkie trip in the pit, when the three-headed beast of the Slayer/Lamb of God/Behemoth tour enters Express Live in Columbus, Ohio on July 18th, 2017. The sign at the pit entrance warns of health hazards in the pit for those brave enough to enter, takes on a higher meaning for this performance. The beast himself could not have conjured up a heavier lineup, and the carnage left in the wake of this Heavy Metal gauntlet is not for the faint of heart.

Wielding the Heavy Metal hammer since 1981, Slayer emerged from Huntington Park, CA, formed by guitarist Kerry King and drummer Dave Lombardo. The five-time Grammy Award Nominee is considered one of the “big four” thrash metal bands along with Metal Icons Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. Slayer has released twelve studio albums two live albums, a box set, six videos, two extended plays and a cover album since its 1983 debut album.

The horde begins its march across North America on July 12th, in Bemidji, MN and the pillaging is scheduled to end in Phoenix, AZ on August 20th. Slayer and Lamb of God are scheduled to play Wisconsin’s Rock Fest 2017, and Rock USA 2017, and then they meet up with Behemoth to play the Chicago Open Air Festival on July 16th.

Lamb of God rose from Richmond, VA in 1994. Since their inception they have released eight studio albums, one live album, one compilation album and three DVDs. They have sold almost 2 million units in the United States.

Behemoth hails from Gdansk, Poland and was formed in 1981. Considered to be “extreme metal” has released ten studio albums. Behemoth is not without controversy and has been accused by the All-Polish Committee for Defense Against Sects for promoting Satanism and Murder. However, Behemoth continues to play in Poland freely, except for one banned performance in Poznan, Poland. The group had been expelled from Russia for visa issues.

So, if you are unable to base jump from a New York Skyscraper, the pit at Express Live on July 18th may be for you. Strap up your heaviest boots, pack your ear protection and stop by your local Metal Shaman for a protective spell and enter the pit at your own risk. For thrash metal fans, this is the must see tour of the summer.

Erica Lenhoff and Mac from the Rust Belt Chronicles will be on hand to document the carnage, and if you recognize them under their armor, give them a metal horn’s up!
