“The Battle of The Bands” at the Whiskey Warehouse Bar & Grill resumed on Saturday, May 26th for Round #5.  All of the bands were competing for a chance appear at the “The Final Battle” on June 3rd. Three-winners out of the final battle will be awarded the opportunity to perform on the main stage at Ink In The Clink 2017 Tattoo and Music Festival. The contestants on this evenings schedule included:  System 303, Black Coffee, King Oblivion, Line of Defense and One Step From Falling.

Erica M. Lenhoff interviewed the bands available after the show at Mastermind Studios (in the early morning hours) with our “Rock Moment” live-streaming video promotion segment. The Rust Belt Chronicles would like to thank the Whiskey Warehouse Bar & Grill for the availability of the shooting location, JNR/Vision and the bands that allowed us this courtesy after the show! You may see our feed of the Rock Moments interviews on our Facebook page.

System 303

System 303 hit the hometown stage like a wind storm. These guys hardly took a breath before hitting the next tune from their bag of original goodies. Guitarist/vocalist Rusty Kirkpatrick had his band armed for bear as they drove the venue with their driving rock music with alternative twists throughout each composition. I honestly forgot how good System 303 was although I caught them a month ago. The band worked up a serious sweat as they gave the fans a delightful set of musical sounds!

One Step From Falling

One Step From Falling came all the way from New York to battle and they gave an astounding set.  They had a unique stage presence with the rarity of the drummer, Steve Reith as lead vocalist. Bassist, Josh Skellett rocked on.  Bob Bardou along with Pete Krell rocked their guitars and captivated us with Kongos adding something different to their set.

Black Coffee

Black Coffee hit the stage and impressed us with straight energy and great music.  The band consists of Ehab Omran on bass and lead vocals, Justin Young on guitar and Tommy McCullough on drums.  They had a very raw sound that had a certain familiarity to classic rock such as Aerosmith and Black Sabbath.  What they gave was unique, the sounds and vocals were both smooth and powerful.

King Oblivion

King Oblivion brought heavy sounds of doom with an elementa of funk.  They thrashed the stage with talent and headbanging rock.  The band memebers are Jeff Cox on drums and vocals, Jacob Houk on guitar and Shad Austin on bass.  They gave an amazing show and kept the night rocking on.

Line of Defense

Line of Defense  was an incredible set of modern rock infused with the sounds of the 1980’s and a touch of the 1990’s.  With powerful vocals and solid sounds they ended the night on point.  Band members are David Bruno on bass and vocals, Zakk Stayer on guitar and vocals, Mitch Stayer on drums and Alex Braholli on guitar on vocals.
