Please Welcome Mac to the Staff of The Rust Belt Chronicles!

We have another amazing staff memeber on the team!  I present to you, Eric Mac!  Mac has been a very wonderful source of knowledge regarding bands, musical genres and artists.  He is hands down a great addition to our team branching out further into the Columbus, OH scene.
Mac bounced into the world a year ahead of the British Invasion of America. While he was just a toddler at the time of Woodstock, his early memories are filled with the sounds of “Yellow Submarine” by the Beatles, and other tunes of the rebellious 60s hippie era. Mac’s first two albums at the early age of 10, were Elvis’s “Platinum Hits” and Elton John’s “Don’t Shoot Me, I’m the only Piano Player”. Soon he fell in love with the magic of KISS, with the album “Alive II” becoming one of the top influences in his young life. Coming of age, Mac jammed to many 60’s and 70’s artists ranging from the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Boston, Peter Frampton, Billy Joel, Van Halen, AC/DC and Cheap Trick.
After High School in 81, Mac gravitated to the growing Music scene in Los Angeles that would later become the Hair Band era. Motley Crue, Ratt, LA Guns and Warrant are among the many bands that would-be part of the foundation of Mac’s love of the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal genre. During the mid-80s while a student at Ohio State, Mac saw such bands as Motorhead, Metallica, Ozzy, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. These shows cemented Mac as a Metal fan for life.
When the 90s arrived, Mac found the sounds of Seattle appealing, with bands like Pearl Jam, Sound Garden and Alice in Chains adding to the catalog of music influencing him. It was also during this time that KORN and Rage Against the Machine exploded on the music scene with both bands becoming all-time favorites of Mac.
Mac plays the bass guitar, and has played in some small projects and bands over the years. Mac was a member of “Mind Load”, a Heavy Nu Metal band, formed in the early 90’s in Columbus. Mind Load briefly played locally in Columbus including gigs at the famous Columbus Rock club, The Alrosa Villa.
Today Mac lives in Dublin, OH. The father of a 19-year-old son, he works as a Home Improvement contractor, but his first love remains music. Mac can be found at many Rock Shows in the Central Ohio area and always looks for forward to the annual Rock on the Range music festival each May at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus.

On his play list today you find a very diverse lineup on Mac’s playlist. From the Jazz Fusion of Al Di Meola, the Ambient sound of Michael Conn, the beauty of Miranda Lambert to KORN, RATM, The Beastie Boys, Shinedown, Red Sun Rising, Stone Sour, Amon Amarth to Lady GaGa, Mac loves a wide range of music and continues to listen to the classics while leaving a wide-open mind to recent music.

Everyone please welcome Mac to The Rust Belt Chronicles Team!  We are expanding and covering all that we can. Mac is going to do wonders with us!

Peace out fellow rockers!
