Today marks the first day of autumn. One of the most exciting things for families to do during this time of year is to check out Pumpkin Patches. There are many near Columbus, in surrounding areas.

Pumpkin Patches aren’t just for picking out pumpkins. They often have hayrides, bouncy houses, fresh cider, corn mazes farm animals and of course each farm has it’s own unique touch to it. This is definitely a family fun activity that typically only lasts about 2-3 months.

If your child has an autumn birthday, there are some farms that even take reservations for parties. This would definitely be something outside of the stereotypical party ideas that everyone, including the parents could enjoy.

If this sounds like a good event for you and your family, but you aren’t sure where to start, you can check out this website: http://www.pumpkinpatchesandmore.org/OHpcolumbus.php.

Here you’ll see a listing of pumpkin patches by county. There are brief descriptions of the activities each one has to offer, contact information and links to their websites where you can find photos, scheduling, pricing and more.

You’ll be surprised how many locations are close to you and how inexpensive such an exciting time can cost.

So this year, don’t just run up to closest department store selling pumpkins outside to pick out pumpkins. Make it a fun memorable experience at a pumpkin patch!
