ARTICLE WRITTEN BY SHANNON ‘HAMMY’ HAMILTON

This Saturday night the Outpost Concert Club in Kent, Ohio will be hosting the KRMA Radio Christmas Show with Cleveland metal bands Sunless Sky and DOSE topping the bill. Also performing will be 1 Click Crazy (Cleveland), Wrath Icon and My Lifes Burden from Akron and Big Ugly out of north central Ohio.

Sunless Sky, a member of the Pure Steel Records stable, brings the metal of old with a twist of a modern sound. They released a new album in April entitled “Doppelganger” as well as a video for the title track.

Juan Ricardo provides the band with lead vocals while Curran Murphy does the shredding on the six strings. Kevin Czarnecki (bass) and Coltin Rady (drums) deliver the brute strength of the rhythm section.

DOSE, like Sunless Sky, is pure raw metal who can bring the foundation of any venue to shambles. Leading the way for the Cleveland gang is Nick Jarrel who is straight up adrenaline with a mic. Twin powers Jason (guitar) and Jeff Morrow (drums) are seasoned veterans that are as talented as any musicians around. Bring in newcomer, Andrew Pasquino on bass and you have the perfect recipe for face-melting any crowd.

Look for their new album due out sometime in 2018 on Mushroomhead’s Filthy Hands/SK1 record label.

1 Click Crazy recently added bassist Tyler Lamerson to their already potent lineup which includes Orlando Flores (vocals), Sam LaCavera (guitar/vocals), Chris Bihary (guitar) and Mike Wilkes (drums).

Wrath Icon was derived from former members of International selling and touring bands who brandish metal with the best of them.

With music that has been featured at MMA fights, My Lifes Burden has two albums under their belt and has taken the stage with many national acts. Brandon Allen takes the roll front and center while Sean McNulty and Anthony Batone tickle the six strings. Tony Dillon is joined by newest member, Marcos Gonzales, to form a formidable rhythm section for this home town favorite.

Big Ugly delivers a unique form of metal that is ‘loud and aggressive with totally unapologetic lyrics and a side of comedy’.

Doors to The Outpost Concert Club, located at 4962 State Route 43 in Kent, open at 6:00 p.m. with the show beginning an hour later. Tickets for the show are $10 in advance.

Get there early and say hi to The Rust Belt Chronicles journalist and photographer, Mandy Edmondson as well as the folks from KRMA Internet Radio.
