Another week, another awesome show!! Don’t miss out this Friday, February 2nd at Express LIVE in Columbus, Ohio, as 99.7 The Blitz and PromoWest Productions presents In This Moment with opening artists P.O.D., New Years Day, and Ded.

Every so often, a female singer pops up… but not one who can scream like Maria Brink from In This Moment. It’s like anger and pain combined into one sound, and it’s what made me along with so many others fall in love with her music. She has so much raw emotion that can be heard in songs like “Big Bad Wolf,” and “Burn.” And then there’s the gorgeous “Sick Like Me” video. Brink is an absolutely beautiful woman that has an amazing set of pipes! ITM‘s latest single “Roots” was released last summer along with yet another awesome video to go with it. I’m truly excited to see In This Moment coming to Columbus again!

When P.O.D. released “Alive” and “Youth of a Nation” in 2001, I was an instant fan. P.O.D. has an interesting mix of vocals and rap on top of alternative rock-based tracks, and they typically sing about real life situations. I was happy to see them on this bill after their recent signing with Mascot Records!

New Years Day is a hard rock band from California that has an interesting sound. They use past emotional relationship break-ups to fuel their music. The lovely vocalist, Ashley “Ash” Costello, has beautifully haunting vocals that mesh with dark rock tones in the bands tracks. Costello comes complete with half red and half black hair that completes her rock look in the various videos that are available on YouTube. I highly recommend listening to their cover of No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak.”

Fresh Metal rockers Ded released their debut album in the summer of 2017 and haven’t looked back. On tour with big names such as Korn, Stone Sour, Pop Evil and more, they have played at almost every rock festival in the US as well as the recent Shiprocked voyage and are gaining popularity fast. With high screams, double kicks, and heavy guitar riffs, Ded is an aggressive, and just as equally loud, heavy metal band who is definitely going places!!!

Jaime Courtney About Jaime Courtney

Hello! I am Jaime “James” Courtney and I am from small town Bremen, Ohio, but currently rock it out in Columbus! I am a Web Graphic Design student at DeVry University and am concentrating on Multi-Media Design and Development. When I’m not doing that, I am living up the night life taking pictures and writing reviews in and around the Columbus/Central Ohio area, because local music is amazing! I hang out with a lot of the local bands in Columbus and have made many wonderful friends in the music community. I have also had the opportunity to photograph such bands as 10 Years, Bobaflex, and am hoping to make that list even bigger!!! Graphic design and making websites is fun, but photography is my true passion… combine that with an intense love of music of all flavors (I also sing, play piano, guitar, bass, and am learning drums!), I hope to someday photograph some of my favorite artists and possibly travel the world to do so!
