Jane’s Addiction will be kicking it at the LC in Columbus on Tuesday, July 7th. This show is a can’t miss with the “Daddy’s of the Alternative Rock Nation“. Opening artists will be: Failure and Radkey. Personally, I hope to see the symbolic Christmas lights onstage with singer, Perry Farrell. The Christmas lights are a physical reminder taken from a line of the song “Three Days.”

Jane’s Addiction hail from Los Angeles and were formed in 1985. The current members are Perry Farrell (vocals), Dave Navarro (guitar), Stephen Perkins (drums) and Chris Chaney (bass). Some of the band members have changed throughout their 30-year career between a few breakups and involvement in numerous side projects. Porno for Pyros, a band created by Perry Farrell in 1992, after the first break of Jane’s Addiction included: Dave Navarro and Flea from The Red Hot Chili Peppers.  In 2006, while Jane’s Addiction was on another break; Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Chris Chaney formed The Panic Channel.

Jane’s Addiction is considered one of the founding sounds of the early 90’s Alternative Rock, Post-Punk and Funk-Punk movements. The band had a major effect on the Alternate Metal scene since the late 80’s and continues to produce the Generation X sound and attitude their fans crave. Jane’s Addiction has passed the test of true rock culture. Still standing tall despite the ugly media, personal and corporate bull.

In 2011, Jane’s Addiction released , The Great Escape Artist on Capital Records. This riveting recording is available through iTunes or Amazon.

Failure, the Los Angeles based band, has been rocking in and out of the alternative rock scene since 1990. Band members are Ken Andrews, Greg Edwards and Kellii Scott. The band’s first single in 1996, “Stuck on You,” from the recording, Fantastic Planet, received radio play and was an MTV music video hit. The album itself received a 5-star rating from Alternative Press Magazine. The record produced a cult following and showed off the bands versatility with Greg Edwards and Ken Andrews switching on and off the vocals and playing various instruments.

This band has created some of the most unique and technical guitar effects, signal processing and sound design known in the industry today. Ken Andrews has become a well-known producer, engineer and mixer within the music industry.

Failure, reunited in 2014 and released a full 18-track album on June, 30th 2015 titled: The Heart is a Monster. You can order this record on the Pledge Music site. This is the band’s first album in 18 years. Failure is currently on a multi-state tour.

Radkey is not your average, cheeky family band. These guys have a punk-funk sound and aren’t afraid to jam. Don’t worry papa is near, their father; Matt Radkey is also their manager. You’re instantly sucked into thier garage band sound  after listening to these boys from St. Joseph, Missouri.

Radkey has the whole package. This trio has a wonderful technical approach to music and vocals with a stage presence to match. Their relaxed plaid and denim attire seems effortless and true to the punk rock culture. The band has a record titled, Dark Black Makeup due for release on August 21st, 2015 and available for pre-order on their web site.

Radkey members are: Dee Radkey, age 19 (guitar/vocals) Isaiah J. Radkey III, age 17 (bass/vocals) and Solomon Radkey, age 15 (drums).
