Grindhouse invades the Alrosa Villa in Columbus – Saturday August 26th @ 6pm

In the Spotlight

Over a year ago, March 1, 2016, Grindhouse became the first band to be featured in the “Local Band Spotlight” in the Rust Belt Chronicles. Since then TRBC has covered this band many times on the Ohio circuit and most recently at Ink in the Klink music and tattoo festival. Saturday Grindhouse headlines the Alrosa Villa on Sinclair Rd, in Columbus, OH.

The Iconic Alrosa Villa

Over the years the iconic Alrosa Villa has hosted countless Ohio acts on the rise, including this writers band, and has seen so many national acts come through I can’t keep count of them. Those bands currently playing on the stage should experience chills on the back of their necks once they realize the great musicians that have gone before. The Alrosa Villa is one of those great venues with a history on par with LA’s Whiskey A Go-Go in terms of the talent that has graced its stage.

Loud and Aggressive

Grindhouse takes the Alrosa Villa stage with their trademark, in your face, loud and aggressive sound this Saturday. The band is made up of Se7en Goza, Vocals/Guitars (formally of Noise Auction), David Adams, Vocals/Guitar (formally of One Pretty Minute), Felixx Alvis on Drums and Byron Basham on the bass.

Zero f-@ks given

Grindhouse describes themselves as:“High energy rock and roll with zero f-@ks given. We’re fun to watch and have great upbeat songs you can really get into and lose yourself.” I was chatting with Se7en the other day and he quipped about Saturdays show. “You wanted the best? Well they aren’t coming, but what you’re left with is four guys, a bunch of makeup (war paint) and a good time high energy, rock show, collectively known as Grindhouse!!”

No KISS, won’t be on the bill Saturday, but Grindhouse carries the torch passed to them by the elders. Expect the same high energy and hunger that defined the shows and sounds of those who came before.

Also on the bill

Doors open at 6pm at the club located at 5055 Sinclair Rd, Columbus OH. Supporting Grindhouse are: The Admiralty, Black Coffee, Pay The Toll, Throwing Rocks at Girls and Brave The Sea.

I’m looking forward to the show Saturday night. Rock and Roll in purist form, the musicians carrying the torch and making their own mark on the rock world. I might even dig out some of my old eyeliner and join the party. Look for Erica Lenoff and myself at the show and come over and tell us what you know. See ya there!
