Treys will be wild on Sunday, July 9th at the House of Blues in Cleveland, as a trio of three-piece bands will take the stage at the storied venue. Headlining the evening will be Chevelle while Black Map and RavenEye will handle the supporting roles.

Chevelle is family affair that hails from Grayslake, Illinois. Brothers Pete (lead vocals, guitar), Sam (drums) and Joe (bass) Loeffler began playing outdoor concerts and clubs around the Chicago area beginning in 1995 and steadily gained a loyal following.

That led to a record deal with the now defunct Squint Entertainment Group. Point #1 came out in 1999 and its modest success paved the way for the band to catch on at Epic Records where they remain today.

They have sold over 4 million albums in the US. Their second release, ‘Wonder what’s Next’ debuted at #14 on the top 200 list in 2002 and has gone on to reach platinum status. Chevelle followed that up with their gold smash ‘This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)’ two years later. That was also the final album that Joe was a part of as he parted ways with his siblings in 2005.

Dean Bernardini stepped into the full time role following a short stint by Geno Denardo, who filled in to complete the bands touring stint at the time. It was only fitting that Bernardini took over the void at bass; considering he is the Loeffler’s brother-in-law.

There have been five albums since Bernardini  came onboard including ‘Vena Sera’ (2007), ‘Sci-Fi Crimes’ (2009), ‘Hats Off to the Bull’ (2011), La Gargola’ (2014) and their latest, ‘The North Corridor’ (2016).

Black Map is considered a post hardcore supergroup that calls San Francisco, California, home. The band’s three cast members include Ben Flanagan of The Trophy Fire on vocals and bass, Chris Robyn (Far) on drums and Dredg’s Mark Engles on guitar.

An EP entitled ‘Driver’ was Black Map’s first piece that was presented to the public in February of 2014. Eight months later ‘And We Explode’ hit the shelves after the band had signed with Minus Head Records.

BM is currently promoting their latest collection ‘In Droves’ which came out in March of this year after the band inked a new deal with the eOne Record Label.

Opening the evening’s festivities will be English rockers, RavenEye. Like the two acts that have already been mentioned, they too are a three-piece ensemble.

Oli Brown is the main man behind the mic. He plays well to the fans as he abounds around the stage with a ton of energy. He also lays down some terrific riffs and licks with his six string. Aaron Spiers (bass) has been by Brown’s side since day one while drummer, Adam Breeze, took over the seat behind the kit in August of last year, replacing Kev Hickman.

RavenEye burst onto the scene after their debut EP ‘Breaking Out’ was released in 2015. That got them noticed by Frontiers Records who they signed with in July 2016. Their first production under the label was Nova, which debuted just over two months later.

The success of ‘Nova’ paved the way for the English trio to be invited to perform on Shiprocked in January of this year. Being a Shiprocker myself, I can tell you that if you have a ticket for the show, plan to be there early because you don’t want to miss RavenEye’s performance.

The Rust Belt Chronicles’ Shannon Hamilton and Jennifer Dixon will be in attendance, if you see them stop by and say hello.

Until next time this is Big L saying ‘keep those horns up and rock on’!! \m/ \m/
