A visit with Marty McCoy of Bobaflex – Rock & Roll Outlaw

Marty McCoy – Bobaflex

Rock & Rock Outlaws

There is no doubt that Bobaflex are Rock & Roll Outlaws. Bobaflex is known as one of the hardest working bands in the land. Besides their relentless touring, they are well known for kick ass and high energy shows. Bobaflex was formed in 1998 by brothers Shaun and Marty McCoy. Currently the lineup of the band includes, Shaun (vocals, guitars) and Marty McCoy (vocals, guitars), Tommy Johnson (drums), David Tipple (guitars) and Jymmy Tolland (bass).

This past Friday night, Bobaflex hosted a CD Release party at the historic Newport Music Hall in Columbus. I had the unique opportunity to sit down with Marty McCoy of Bobaflex and have a conversation on their bus and home away from home.

Marty is a true Rock & Roll Outlaw, cut from the same cloth as the great Johnny Cash and Lemmy Kilmister. Marty is a true gentleman, and like me, born and raised with the down-home values of West Virginia. I was comfortable and right at home with Marty from the start of the interview.

New Record Label

We talked about the bands new record label – Thermal Entertainment LLC, of Greenville, South Carolina. We visited with little Charles on his 9th Birthday. Charles was there to attend his first concert and Bobaflex did it up right for him. Check out the review coming to these pages soon. And we talk about Bobaflex’s new CD, “Eloquent Demons”. If you haven’t added this CD to your collection, don’t miss out another minute! Start to finish it is a Rock & Roll monster and begs to be played at max volume, much like the bands live show.

We also discussed boy bands, outlaw rock, Sonic Lounge Studios and growing up in West Virginia. Check out the video below for the complete interview as it happened.

Thanks to Marty for inviting us into Bobbafex’s home on the road, and for being so gracious with his time.

Thanks to Thick Rick of 99.7 The Blitz for making this all happen. You are amazing brother!
